A journalist describes a flight aboard NASA's KC-135A, a plane that induces the experience of weightlessness by flying in a series of parabolas. Nausea was a problem for almost half of the students and journalists on the flight.

Weightlessness is the main factor affecting human health in space. The ailments are the result of the body being accustomed to gravity, such as space sniffles due to the changes in pressure acting on the human body.
