Article Abstract:
Jet planes which use oxygen from the atmosphere to attain speeds beyond Mach 5 are lighter than the conventional rockets because they no need to carry an oxidizer. Ramjets have air inlets which compress air when the vehicle is moving. Supersonic-combustion ramjets allow speeds beyond Mach 6.

Supreme emergencies revisited
Article Abstract:
A discussion on admitting the gap between the moral constraints which apply to ordinary warfare and those applied to supreme emergencies is presented. It is suggested that none of the arguments for special permissions can withstand criticism.
