The North American Amphibian Monitoring Project held its conference on the Internet from November 1996 to February 1997. The conference format enabled many participants to engage in discussions and peruse interesting reports. Most of the reports were centered on the higher incidence of malformed appendages in frogs.

Whiteout: widespread coral bleaching, even in deep water, continues to perplex scientists
Article Abstract:
Researchers at Glover's Reef Marine Research Station, offshore Belize, have observed widespread coral bleaching but are unsure why it is happening. Coral bleaching occurs when coral expels the algae that typically live on the reef and provide its color.
