An integrated approach to technology acquisition management

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to analyze a holistic approach to technology acquisition that features several strands of technology management. The approach promotes a generic technology acquisition framework that can be utilized at strategic and operational levels. It also features a structured framework to determine the most appropriate technological solution to a market need. In addition, a computer software package was designed to provide decision makers with a tool for carrying out technology acquisition processes.

The multimedia content industry: strategies and competencies

Article Abstract:

Michael Porter's five-forces model was employed to characterize the attractiveness of the multimedia content industry with respect to barriers to entering the market, power of suppliers, power of buyers, substitutes and competition. In addition, Porter's Value Chain model and the Bonsai Tree model were used to determine the sector's competitive advantage in Europe based on several core competencies that were identified.

A framework for GSS evaluation: an organizational perspective

Article Abstract:

A mechanism for evaluation of group support systems (GSS) which fulfills the three goals of validation, design and decision making is proposed. Validation is aimed at guaranteeing that the GSS performs according to what users intended, design is meant to improve the design, development and implication of GSS while decision making pertains to improving and understanding how a group arrives at decisions.
