Arsenic in old herbicides comes back to haunt Denver

Article Abstract:

Soil layers around the Denver area are contaminated with high levels of arsenic, a popular crabgrass killer manufactured by Asarco Inc., despite cleanup efforts by the company after being found guilty of causing harm to the environment. The pesticide, which was heavily used during the 1950s and 1960s, failed to leach away over the years due to Denver's semi-arid climate.
