Article Abstract:

Benchmarking and reengineering are two management techniques that are usually practiced separately. However, their integration has been found to be more beneficial to implementing companies. Two areas have been identified that exemplify the advantages of using benchmarking and reengineering together. It was found that determining the processes to reengineer is better done with the support of systematic benchmarking studies. Secondly, the creation of a customer-oriented approach through the reengineering technique can be enhanced if it has inputs from a benchmarking partner.
