Beta Foly: experiments with tradition and technology in West Africa

Issues concerning the formation and musical interests of the musical group Beta Foly are examined. Topics include the group's members, including a student at the Vienna Music Academy, the German musician Kurt Dahlke, and African traditional musicians from Cote d'Ivoire. Topics include the dialogue created between electronic and traditional music, a description of several of the group's compositions, and the value of inter-cultural exchange.
