Anthropologists probe genes, brains at annual meeting

Article Abstract:

Physical anthropologists gathered to discuss brain evolution and the impact of human mate choices on genetics. Among the reports presented were revised figures for the cranial capacity of an apelike human ancestor and findings on the effect of the caste system on the genes of modern Hindus.

When it comes to evolution, humans are in the slow class

Article Abstract:

Population geneticist Wen-Hsiung Li presented convincing evidence that supports molecular evolutionist Morris Goodman's 34-year-old theory that human DNA changes less each year than that of other primates and mammals. If accurate, the finding invalidates the universal 'molecular clock.'
