Building a manufacturing cladogram
Article Abstract:
The creation of a cladogram, a structure representation of the evolutionary history of a group of manufacturing systems, helps manufacturing firms achieve organizational change through the structure's underlying philosophy of evolution. The tree structure of a cladogram enables manufacturing firms to identify their organizational position, as well as their competitors. The structure's corresponding ratings in terms of organizational competitiveness and performance guide manufacturing firms in deciding whether to continue or cease their operations.

Continuous improvement in Australian manufacturing firms: findings of a survey in New South Wales
Article Abstract:
Australian manufacturing sector's awareness of the importance of continuous improvement (CI) remains in the level of manufacturing and operations areas and does not extend yet to the level of employees' participation. CI practice is more inclined to quality improvement and cost reduction while personnel training in CI activities is still limited. Incentives in CI activities also stress more on career development rather than financial gains.
