Delta blues: Mackenzie River Delta IBA confronts energy development

Article Abstract:

The Mackenzie River Delta includes low-lying islands, pingos, upland tundra, and small trees and is an Important Bird Area (IBA). Studies are being conducted to see the effects of the old seismic lines and drill pads on the shorebirds, results of which would help to make best decisions to minimize the impact of inevitable energy development.
