Chilean coastal Archaeology

Article Abstract:

The project aims to explore how the Chinchorro exploited marine resources; how quickly the Alto Ramirez cultural traits began to replace Chinchorro traditions; and in turn, how the Alto Ramirez culture adapted to desert conditions. Dr. Mario Rivera and his project team are surveying and unearthing evidence of the two cultures that flourished in one of the driest places on Chilean coastal Archaeology three millennia ago.
