British Telecom is planning spending almost 10 billion pound between 2007 and 2011 to replace its entire public switched telephone network with a network based on Internet Protocol (IP). British Telecom's 21CN would integrate all the ISDN, DSL and leased lines into a single network by using many multiservice access nodes and it intends to ensure that 21CN has high-quality sound just like the old network.

When publishing could mean perishing
Article Abstract:
Rep Thomas J Bliley's proposal to limit the dissemination of hazardous substances to the paper format and not through the Internet is a terrible precedent according to the Center for Democracy and Technology. Information cannot be controlled by gatekeepers nor limited in paper form to be read in libraries.

Ballot breakdown: flaws continue to hamper computerized voting
Article Abstract:
The problem with all electronic systems is that there is no way to prove that the cast ballots were properly recorded or bared any resemblance to actual votes. A number of suggestions to rectify such errors are made that would tabulate votes quickly and make voting confidential and accurate.
