Does tellurium frost Venus's highlands?

Article Abstract:

Planetary radar specialist Gordon Pettenegill reported at the fall 1995 American Geophysical Union meeting that tellurium may coat Venus's highest points. The element's radioactive properties explain the planet's brightness, and tellurium's melting point would allow the highlands but not the plains to be coated.

More Venus science, or the off switch for Magellan

Article Abstract:

NASA cannot find $8.2 million needed to continue Magellan's probe of Venus's interior, thus it may become the first productive space probe to be shut down. Continuation of the mission could provide precise gravity measurements useful in determining the planet's development.

Did Venus hiccup or just run down?

Article Abstract:

Magellan spacecraft radar images indicate that the planet may have had a massive outpouring of lava 500 million years ago, followed by an unusually low flow. This controversial theory could imply that Venus is different from other planets in important respects.
