Editorial: the role of management of technology in clinical and administrative health-care delivery

Article Abstract:

US economic policy in the 1990s has become concerned over the issue of health care. Technology plays a crucial role in the management of health care organizations. Very few research has been done on the management of technology (MOT) in health care. A collection of studies is presented on MOT and health care management. It is demonstrated that MOT in health care offers opportunities for further research.

Value of technology investments in health-care organizations: a stochastic decision model

Article Abstract:

The percentage of medical equipment expenditures in health care costs have increased among hospitals. Hospitals need to formulate investment policies for technology acquisition which accounts for their value and contributions upon implementation. A preliminary stochastic model is presented to study the investment policy of hospitals on technology.

Integrated management of technology in health-care organizations

Article Abstract:

Technology is one of the important resources that has to be utilized in improving health care services. Heavy investment in technology by health care providers make it a critical issue. The integration of management of technology and its relationship to the performance of health care organizations is studied.
