Effect of a constructed wetland on disinfection byproducts: removal processes and production of precursors
Article Abstract:
Researchers from the U.S. Geological Survey and the Colorado School of Mines investigated the decrease of concentrations of halogenated disinfection byproducts such as organic halides, trihalomethanes , haloacetic acids and others, in constructed treatment wetlands but the potential increases as wastewater moves through the wetlands.
