Identification of alkyl dimethylbenzylammonium surfactants in water samples by solid-phase extraction followed by ion trap LC/MS and LC/MS/MS
Article Abstract:
Using solid-phase extraction (SPE), with liquid chromatography/ion trap mass spectrometry (LC/MS) and mass spectrometry (MS/MS) techniques, alkyl dimethylbenzylammonium is measured in waste water and river water. Concentrations of benzalkonium homologues are graphed.

Particle-scale investigation of PAH desorption kinetics and thermodynamics from sediment
Article Abstract:
Sediment samples from Milwaukee Harbor in Wisconsin are measured for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) desorption kinetics with thermal program desorption mass spectrometry. Graphs show the rates of desorption for different PAHs at varying temperatures.
