Utilization of zeolites synthesized from coal fly ash for the purification of acid mine waters

Article Abstract:

Three samples of acid mine waters from the Guadiamar Valley, Spain are decontaminated with zeolites derived from fly ash, and with synthetic zeolite. The reduction of heavy metal elements in the water samples is charted and graphed after the zeolitic treatment.

Electrochemical and spectroscopic study of arsenate removal from water using zero-valent iron media

Article Abstract:

A study by the University of Arizona examined technology for removal of arsenate from drinking water using zero-valent iron media. Results showed that removal of arsenate through surface complexation was possible with reduction to metallic arsenate.
