Time out: a Patent Office ruling frees the development of new ultrawideband wireless systems

Article Abstract:

Time Domain Corp., which owns patents on an ultrawideband pulse radar technology developed by Larry Fullerton in the 1970s, welcomes a ruling in its patent suit against Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The government lab developed its own, similar technology, which Time Domain claimed was dependent on its own.

Researcher Robert P. Liburdy published a study in 1992 showing that electromagnetic fields can influence cellular functions. But after receiving an anonymous tip, a government investigation showed that Liburdy's research was falsified.
