Experimental psychologist Paula Tallal and neuroscientist Michael Merzenich and their research team report that specific computer games can help some language-impaired children improve their language skills. The computer games train the children to respond to the fast-paced sounds of spoken speech.

Three research teams have produced strong evidence that the receptor cloned by Louis Tartaglia in Dec 1995 is in fact the receptor for leptin, the weight-control hormone product of the mouse obesity gene 'ob.' Tartaglia's team had been unsure they had the right receptor.
