Hanford nuclear waste to be pumped, treated

Article Abstract:

The U.S Department of Energy has decided to remove the nuclear waste leftover from World War II and the cold war that is stored in underground tanks at Hanford, in eastern Washington State. The removed nuclear waste will be transformed into glass by a method called vitrification. The agency has constructed a special facility for storage of the removed material and production of glass.

Brownfield remediation: Seattle Waterfront Brownfield converted into outdoor sculpture park

Article Abstract:

Three portions of a property of the Seattle Art Museum, are to be converted by engineers and architects into a lush sculpture garden. The so called Olympic Sculpture Park will consist of outdoor sculptures, native vegetation and a salmon habitat.
