'Intelligent' earthquake friction dampers adapt to varying forces
Article Abstract:
A new type of 'intelligent' earthquake damping technology that will help buildings and other structures better withstand the destructive motions caused by earthquakes is discussed. A smart damper that can adapt to varying forces is developed to minimize movement during an earthquake.
