Introduction: connecting people and information for innovation: contribution to the management of technology

The Sixth International Forum on Technology Management in October 16-17, 1996 presents and selects several papers that address chosen topics in technology management. Chapelet and Tovstiga's "Development of a research methodology for assessing a firm's business process-related technologies", and Bidault, Despres and Butler's "New product development and early supplier involvement(ESI): the drivers of ESI adoption" among others expound on the forum's subject requirements.

Choosing successful technology development partners: a best practice model

Article Abstract:

Access to technology competence, information, high research and development costs are among the many reasons why firms resort to technology partnership. In a two-step approach study of representative firms, results also show that firms technical capabilities, information security programs and market strength among others are found to be dominant success factors. However, what matters most is the trust accorded by each members of the partnership.

Technology management in technology-contingent SMEs

Article Abstract:

Technology-contingent Small and Medium-sized Enterprises need to assess their strategic visions to level with technology-intensive SMEs. Their style of adopting technology due mainly to compelling reasons is what make them lag behind market competition. Management must have a long-term policy that is backed with logistics relative to changes and innovations in technology, workers efficiency and technological competence.
