Investigations on butterfly Fe/S cluster S-centered anions (mu-S(super -))(sub 2)Fe(sub 2)(CO)(sub 6), (mu-S(super -)(mu-RS)Fe(sub 2)(CO)(sub 6), and related species
Article Abstract:
The formation and chemical reactivities of the novel butterfly Fe/S cluster anions of (mu-S(super -))(sub 2)Fe(sub 2)(CO)(sub 6), (mu-S(super -))(mu-RS)Fe(sub 2)(CO)(sub 6), (mu-S(super -))(mu-RS)[Fe(sub 2)(CO)(sub 6)]2((mu)4-S), and related species are described. The anions along with their products are important in the development of organometallic chemistry, cluster chemistry, catalysis, and material and life sciences.

Vibrational energy flow and chemical reactions
Article Abstract:
A study done on energy reveals that energy flow is a quantum diffusive process leading to nonexpotential decays. The slowness of energy flow in activated molecules causes substantial deviation from statistical Rice-Ramsperger-Kassel-Marcus (RRKM) theories for low barrier rate processes.
