Management, technology, and what's next

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the 'fifth' economic long wave expansion reveals that essential traits that firms need include flexibility, adaptiveness, responsiveness, action-oriented behavior and a high skill mix, particularly multi-functional skills. The study uses data from management history literature and economic long wave research to determine the commencement of the next expansion cycle and the 'paradigm of automation' providing the expansion engine.

Organizational culture and innovativeness of firms - an integrative view

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the role of organizational culture in firm innovativeness reveals that general patterns in effective promotion of innovation point to willingness to communicate with stakeholders, values and norms for conflict resolution, trust and pluralistic cultures with complementary subcultures. The study is inconclusive however, and much needs to be done to confirm findings and formulate a generalized concept.
