Mechanism for transduction of the ligand-binding signal in heme-based gas sensory proteins revealed by resonance Raman spectroscopy

Article Abstract:

The resonance Raman (RR) studies, including static and time-resolved measurements that have enabled clarification of the mechanisms by which binding of specific target molecule by the sensor domain is transduced to alteration of the functional domain is presented. Results reveal that signals can be conveyed from the heme to the functional domain via three different pathways, a distal pathway, a proximal pathway, and a heme peripheral pathway.

Construction, substitution, and sorting of metallo-organic structures via subcomponent self-assembly

Article Abstract:

The construction of complex architectures from simple building blocks is feasible using subcomponent self-assembly by forming covalent bonds around metal templates. Several rearrangement reactions involving substitution at both intraligand and metal-ligand bonds are possible as both covalent and coordinative bonds are formed reversibly, as also parallel preparation of structures from nonorthogonal combinations of subcomponents.

Ligand design in multimetallic architectures: Six lessons learned

Article Abstract:

Metallosupramolecular chemistry involves the use of combinations of organic ligands and metals for the construction of both discrete and polymeric aggregates. It is recommended that the incorporation of a diverse range of heterocyclic rings and arene cores within the ligands.
