Navigating the folding routes

Article Abstract:

One view of protein folding dynamics is that there are many possible folding pathways, with choices becoming narrower as the native structure is approached. The parameters and dynamics of the folding funnel are described.

The parallel beta helix of pectate lyase C: something to sneeze at

Article Abstract:

The parallel beta helix in pectate Lyase C is dimpled and resembles an 'L' when projected. This protein folding structure would provide an ideal template for antigen presentation in research on polyvalent vaccines.

Chaperones: helpers along the pathways to protein folding

Article Abstract:

Scientists have identified a class of proteins that act upon a variety of polypeptides during the steps in the process of protein folding. Two families of heat shock proteins (HSP) are involved: Hsp70 and Hsp60.
