New bull's-eyes for drugs
Article Abstract:
A familiar class of cell-surface receptors, G-protein coupled receptors, (GPCRs) could yield new treatments for disorders ranging from HIV infection to obesity. Researchers believe that compounds that bind to other sites on GPCRs can modulate GPCR activity and this discovery gives new possibilities for treating cancer and other major disorders.
