Research into the admission of Russian authorities of dumping radioactive wastes and equipment by its submarines into the Kara Sea, showed surprising results in terms of radioactivity being locked and retained into the ocean sediment without any corresponding leakages into the surrounding waters.

A backyard pond idea
Article Abstract:
Homeowners can choose from concrete, performed plastic molds or polyvinyl chloride (PVC) liners in building a backyard pond. Of the three, PVC liners are the best choice as they cost less and are easy to install. The size, shape and location of the pond must also be carefully planned.

An exercise that involves counting plant species within a section of a lawn can be used to demonstrate to students how scientists estimate the smallest portion of land needed to preserve species diversity within given areas.
