Origami tessellations

Article Abstract:

Thin metal cylinders form a pattern of tessellations as they buckle when the buckling load is reached. The patterns are very similar to those formed through origami. Koryo Miura showed in 1989 that there are only three tessellation patterns possible.

Cows in the maze

A new type of maze has been developed by Robert Abbott which is both geometrical and logical. The maze utilizes self-references which have been very difficult even for logicians and philosophers.
