Outward bound

Article Abstract:

A new series of unmanned spacecraft missions to explore the solar system faster, better and at less cost is at the heart of the Discovery program of the NASA. The first of these missions is the Near-Earth Asteroid Rendezvous, which aims to place a spacecraft into orbit around an asteroid.

Mir space station: back in action

Article Abstract:

Issues concerning the reopening of the Mir space station by Russian cosmonauts in April 2000 are discussed. After repair to damage and leaks on the station, future missions will establish facilities for scientific and commercial experiments.
