Tallest British sculpture defies gravity
Article Abstract:
Contractors in the United Kingdom are within months of completing the construction of a dramatic, 1-million Pound (U.S. $1.8-million) work of art outside the City of Manchester Stadium. Entitled B of the Bang, the 56 m tall sculpture, created by Thomas Heatherwick, expresses the controlled chaos of exploding fireworks and features 180 polygonal spikes of various lengths extending from a central nucleus.
