Preventing pollution by design

Article Abstract:

Boeing Co. will decide if it will go public with Expert Process Advisory System (EPAS), a state-of-the-art manufacturing design software, deemed to become the first broadly usable tool for pollution prevention. Should the company decide to affirm plans for the software, it plans to hire a major software maker to produce an off-the-shelf product. The software intends to help manufacturers to effect pollution reduction by providing them with information about environmental ramifications of their design options.
