Rising from the river

Article Abstract:

Correct placement of geotextiles and dike construction methods are necessary to attain the required tensile reinforcement in dredged-material containment facilities. Data from Wilmington Harbour South Disposal Area, Delaware, show that continuous settlement of the dredged material accompany advancing creep of geotextile. The stress on the geotextile in this dike varies with places. The piezometric elevations and lateral displacements have become almost constant. Strip drains are required to increase subgrade consolidation.
