Sampler for measurement of alveolar carbon monoxide
Article Abstract:
A sampler for measuring alveolar carbon dioxide (CO) which overcomes many of the limitations found in similar devices was developed. The sampler collects CO only from the subjects' alveolar region and without the discard of dead space air in the respiratory system. The device, which consists of a mouthpiece, an alveolar air trap system and an adsorbent tube, is capable of measuring alveolar CO in quantities ranging between 3 part-per-million (ppm) to 70 ppm without any humidity effect.

Nitrous acid in Albuquerque, New Mexico, homes
Article Abstract:
Nitrous acid in Albequerque, NM, homes produced by unvented combustion and heterogenous reactions of nitrogen dioxide was measured. The results showed that HONO inside homes ranged from 5% to 15% of measured NO2 concentrations. Since there was a strong correlation between HONO and NO2 concentrations, it is important to consider HONO as a hazardous pollutant in homes. High concenrations of HONO due to surface-catalyzed reactions were observed.

A passive sampler for measurement of carbon monoxide using a solid adsorbent
Article Abstract:
A new passive sampler measures time-weighted average carbon monoxide (CO) concentrations can be measured using a solid adsorbent made from Y-type zeolite. The sampler collects the CO by molecular diffusion and transforms it into methane. The methane is then analysed by gas chromatography. The passive sampler is a low-cost, user-friendly method for measuring CO.
