Shock wave-induced melting in argon by atomistic simulation
Article Abstract:
The results of a study on argon Hugonoit suffer from several faulty assumptions. Among these are failure to analyze solid-solid phase changes, overestimation of bulk modulus for solid argon and underestimation of the temperature of liquid Hugonoit.

Iron: beta phase frays
Article Abstract:
Scientists have produced experimental data supporting the validity of a fifth solid phase of iron called Beta. If validated, the Beta phase would replace Epsilon at the pressure and temperature conditions of the inner core of Earth.

Detecting phases of iron
Article Abstract:
The existence of a beta phase of iron in in situ heating experiments with pressures of up to 130 GPa is substantiated, and a contradictory claim of an epsilon' phase is dismissed. A reply is included.
