Sizing up evolutionary radiations; by gauging life's diversity from differences in body size and shape rather than number of species, paleontologists are gleaning surprising new insights about adaptive radiations

Article Abstract:

A new way of studying evolutionary radiations is expected to reveal far more insights than traditional taxonomic divisions into the reasons why some organisms developed new forms while others did not. The new method largely ignores species classification to focus on changes in morphology.
