Subsidy Helps New Grads Find First Science Jobs

Article Abstract:

South Korean college graduates have encountered a difficult job market in the late 1990s, as the economy of their country has suffered along with the economies of many Asian countries. South Korea, however, has established a Research Intern Program that will subsidize the pay of recent science graduates with advanced degrees.

Putting molecules behind bars

Article Abstract:

Researchers have developed elaborate and advanced crystalline solids called clathrates by imprisoning small molecules within crystalline bars. Clathrates are difficult to create because they contain large empty spaces that must be filled by guest molecules such as solvents.
