Toward a 24-Hour Economy

Article Abstract:

Fusion Power From a Floating Magnet?

Article Abstract:

The Levitated Dipole Experiment is a 5-year study of a plasma confinement scheme, which will seek to determine whether a dipole-based machine can generate the conditions for fusion. The fusion machine involves a superconducting magnet that will be levitated and should help researchers understand the stability issues of plasma confinement.
