Article Abstract:

The concepts of heritage and identity in Latin American contemporary music are discussed, with a special emphasis on electroacoustic composition, considering the problems of teaching and judging contemporary composition from a European perspective. The implications of the concepts of heritage and identity when working with technology are also analyzed to design an original approach to the problem of sound identity.
