Article Abstract:

Essex County's Natural Habitat Restoration Program (NHRP) is a group of volunteers engaged in gardening particularly in seed collecting and planting native trees to widen the natural habitat. The NHRP began in 1992 and since then, volunteers have searched for seeds on woodlots, parks, and fields.

Bopping through the solar system

Article Abstract:

The Hale-Bopp Comet is expected to display its beauty and magnificence to Canadian sky-watchers with its high visibility in Apr 1997. The comet's 40 km-nucleus is expected to develop a long tail, which will rival the brilliance of Comet Hyakutake, seen last in Mar 1996.

Collisions with comets and asteroids

Article Abstract:

The chances of a comet or asteroid colliding with the Earth are remote, but the results would be catastrophic. Asteroids are the more possible danger, as they are located in a belt within the solar system. Scientific efforts to track asteroids and comets are discussed.
