What to do about coal

Article Abstract:

Coal is a fuel that emits considerably more carbon dioxide per unit of electricity generated compared to other sources, resulting in a higher threat to global warming. The coal conversion technologies such as integrated low-carbon energy strategy that incorporates carbon dioxide capture and storage can reconcile substantial use of coal.

An alarming trend of global warming calls for immediate and major commitments from all countries to develop renewable energy sources that generate very little or no carbon. Renewable energy sources such as solar cells, wind turbines and biofuels have had dramatic improvements in performance and affordability, making it more commercial.
