Age, skill, and contexual cuing in target detection
Article Abstract:
A study is made to examine the extent to which structural regularities inherent in visual arrays help to guide target detection and reduce age-related differences in skilled visual search performance. The results demonstrate that contextual information, aids the skilled search of middle-aged experts, and suggest that contextual cuing is 1 means by which middle-aged adults can circumvent the effects of normally age-deficient processes on performance in a skilled domain.

The role of primary and secondary control in adaptation to age-related vision loss: a study of older adults with macular degeneration
Article Abstract:
The effect of primary and secondary control on three major outcomes, experienced by visually impaired older adults that are functional ability, adaptation to vision loss and positive affect, are discussed. The control approach based on the lifespan theory of control is promising to understand the adaptational dynamics of age-related macular degeneration (ARMD).
