Aging, source, and decision criteria: when false fame errors do and do not occur
Article Abstract:
An examination of the effect of decision-making criteria on source memory efficacy of older and younger adults through two experiments using the false fame paradigm revealed greater false fame errors for older adults compared to younger adults validating earlier research. Research reveals that older adults should use substantially harsh decision criteria while making source judgements, which will help lower age variations in source misrepresentations.

Aging, distraction, and the benefits of predictable location
Article Abstract:
Analysis of the effect of distraction on reading abilities of younger and older adults in three experiments with stable and unpredictable distractors revealed marked effects of unpredictable distraction in older adults compared to younger adults, which were reduced significantly as the location of distraction was fixed. The vulnerability of older adults to distraction through the relatedness effect was removed by fixed distractions.

A comparison of coping strategies of aging mothers of adults with mental illness or mental retardation
Article Abstract:
A study of the mental states of 105 aging mothers of adults with mental illness and 389 mothers of mentally retarded adults revealed the former sample to be more susceptible to fits of depression. Caregiving demands and offspring's behavior problems directly influenced the nature of depression in mothers of mentally ill and retarded adults respectively.
