Bilingualism, aging, and cognitive control: Evidence from the Simon task
Article Abstract:
Bilingualism is associated with more effective controlled processing in children, the assumption being that the constant management of 2 competing languages enhances effective functions. However, in middle-aged and older adults bilingualism was associated with smaller Simon task effect costs and bilingualism helped to offset age-related losses in certain executive processes, like working memory.

The effects of aging and divided attention on memory for item and associative information
Article Abstract:
It is examined how aging and divided attention influence memory for item and associative information. The results are discussed in terms of an age-related reduction in processing resources compounded by an age-related increase in older adults' reliance on familiarity in associative recognition memory.

Memory for grocery prices in younger and older adults: The role of schematic support
Article Abstract:
The study was conducted to examine how younger and older adults remembered price information. The results showed that when older adults rely on prior knowledge and schematic support, and tasks involve naturalistic materials, memory for associative information is as good as that of younger adults.
