Visual cues and the handwriting of older adults: a kinematic analysis
Article Abstract:
Older adults show less efficient handwriting movement and poorer use of visual cues in improving handwriting, than younger adults. These inefficiencies resemble the dysfluent, shaky handwriting movement in Parkinsonism to a limited extent. Older adults use visual cues to modify their movement trajectories, rather than to correct a noisy motor output. While the presence of external cues benefits young individuals in producing efficient movements, it inhibits efficient movements in older individuals.

State-dependent learning in older and younger adults
Article Abstract:
Age-related differences in memory have been studied, and these differences avry according to the type of task. State-dependent learning operates in older adults as well as younger adults, and could be equivalent in both groups. These findings back up work which suggests that older adults employ contextual information to help with subsequent recall. The findings also support the view that age differences tend to be less noticeable when implicit memory is being tested.
