Current-events knowledge in adults: an investigation of age, intelligence, and nonability determinants
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that age and personality are significantly and positively linked to knowledge of current events. Tests involved subject knowledge of events between the 1930s and 1990s. Crystallized intelligence was a more effective predictor of current-events knowledge levels than fluid intelligence. Findings support the theory of intelligence-as-process, interests, and personality, fostering intelligence-as-knowledge.

The locus of adult intelligence: Knowledge, abilities, and nonability traits
Article Abstract:
It has been suggested by some intelligence theorists that knowledge is an aspect of human intelligence that is well preserved. Little is known about knowledge structures throughout different domains. Academic and technology-oriented tests were undertaken by 135 middle-aged adults. Compared to younger college students, the middle-aged adults had more comprehension of most of the various knowledge domains.
