Percutaneous endoscopic gastronomy (PEG) tube placement is a widely used method for enternal feeding of demented patient unable to take food by mouth. A study on veterans for determining whether the use of PEG tubes for patients with dementia has changed over time and by race indicates that the overall use and changes in use over time varied significantly with race

Pharmacotherapy of pain in depressed older adults
Article Abstract:
The pharmacotherapy for pain in a sample of 1,801 depressed older primary care patients is examined. Most depressed older adults in the sample reported functional impairment from pain and a history of chronic pain, but almost half of those with functional impairment from pain did not report using analgesic medications.
