Fighting a system biased toward nursing home placement

Article Abstract:

Many Americans are inclined to select nursing homes over other options for care and treatment of their elderly. This is because people are unaware about other options. Quite often, nursing homes are not equipped for such care and treatment. In this context, the need to educate the nursing home staff and community services advocates on different options so that they can inform the individuals and their families to approach appropriate health care provider is suggested based on personal experience.

Fall prevention in residential care: a cluster, randomized, controlled trial

Article Abstract:

A cluster, randomized, controlled trial is used to reduce falls in older residential care residents. It is seen that this fall-prevention intervention does not reduce falls or injury from falls.
