Studies conducted by gerontologists around the world reveals the morality in old-age people increased significantly over the past years. Because of some incurable diseases the growth rate of the morality is not constant. But keeping the factors like improvement in the social and personal life standards this trend can be expected to continue in the near future.

New drugs and techniques have been formulated to manage all types of pain, from muscular to arthritic and even chronic pain. In surgery, preemptive as well as post operative pain management should be discussed with the surgeon. With the advances made in pharmacology, pain should be relieved, not borne.
