Fishing Atlantic bluefin to the brink of extinction
Article Abstract:
The Atlantic bluefin tuna fish is considered a luxury fish, because of its cost and its speed in the water. It costs approximately $65,000 a pound and moves at an approximate maximum speed of 55 miles per hour in less than 10 seconds. The bluefin has, however, been overfished and even though it lays millions of eggs, there is a minimum limit below which it cannot survive. Definite laws are required to prevent this species from becoming extinct.
